ᵒᵘᵗ ᵒᶠ ᶜᵃᵐᵖ.is now a good time to mention the fact that David used his verses in Better Than You to SHOW his talents that would make him a great counselor ( ^{praise, optimism, singing} ), where Daniel used his verses to TELL his accomplishments or to put down David in order to lift himself up; And this being a marker in WHY David is better than him as both a counselor and a person ( ^{beside, you know, the whole cultist thing} ). 

David is ultimately a man of action and he knows that just TELLING someone to trust him isn’t enough, but that it’s something that has to be EARNED. Plus, he even takes the time to validate and reassure his rival, even though they’re fighting for the things that are MOST IMPORTANT to him ( ^{Campbell’s attention, the camp, his campers} ) bc his character stands no matter the odds.
