His hands were gripping tightly to his shirt, finding comfort from the other. He loved Max and Preston to death but his friends just couldn’t comfort him like David could. He also didn’t want to wake them up in the dead of night. He wasn’t sure how they would react either. Most likely worry and some teasing. He didn’t want any of that during her panicking moments.
It didn’t take him long to match David’s breathing. It helped him calm down much quicker.
He pulled himself back and wiped his eyes with his arm, “ It was horrible. I was…i was back in-in the hospital. They were- they- “ He still wasn’t quite able to focus his thoughts and explain what had happened, “ there were needles- it- it was just like when they took it from me “
David was a little relieved when he started breathing a little more EVENLY, the tension draining out of his own shoulders just the slightest bit . He let Theo pull away from the embrace, but David kept his fingers resting on the other’s arms, rubbing soft CIRCLES there with his thumb .
The counselor was silent as he retold the events of his nightmare, patiently listening despite the slight difficulty Theo was STILL having . Slowly, he brought his hand up to move aside a strand of his hair that had become askew to get a better view of his face .
❝ It is over, now, ❞ David reminded, SOFTLY. ❝ I’m sure what you went through was very scary, but fortunately this time it was just a bad dream .As long as you’re here, I’m not gonna let anything bad happen to you, ALRIGHT?You’re safe . ❞
